HOW TO BE THE BEST IN THE DIALYSIS FIELD! READ THIS!

I had an evaluation model as I grew as a dialysis technician and I want to share that with you. It is crucial to grow and be as effective as possible as a dialysis tech/worker. By using my pie chart model you will steadily improve and avoid making the same poor mistakes year in and year out. Each year evaluate yourself using this. You should aim to be the best in this field in every area of your patient care. I have seen people in the dialysis field for over 10 years making the same errors and they received the same old negative implications 😕because of it. You can avoid this and stand out by desiring to be different and improve.

As a newbie dialysis technician, patients ridiculed😢 me concerning my pace. Many people complained about how slow I was and their need to get to work or school on time. This hurt my feelings but I knew something must be done about this. I took a long hard look at my weak areas and began to work on them.
My first weak area with the most complaints was speed and efficiency. How could I move at a better pace without making mistakes and being efficient at the same time? My second problem was the turnover. How could I get patients in and out on time better? I had more areas but those were two main issues I was having. So I did a model like the one below: I analyzed, pondered and took action.

1. Analyze your problems💭- Where are you going wrong? Draw a pie chart and fill it in with your weak areas.

Draw a pie circle and fill it in with your weak areas. 😉

2. List the steps you pondered on😌

3. Take action based on your steps and stay consistent.😊

Not only is it crucial that you do this circle pie chart but also ASK YOUR PATIENTS!💭 I always asked my patients how I was doing each week and to tell me the honest truth and they did. Some disclosed to me that they didn't like my method and they preferred a different way. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE 💓💓💓FEEDBACK! This is what will help you GROW👌 and IMPROVE👍 and BE THE BEST👏! Even if the feedback is negative, still take it and learn from it. It was a patient that first showed me the way to some of my great methods that are frequently praised by other patients. Please talk to them and be open-minded and that is the biggest key to you being the best dialysis worker!!
